back to glen harrow

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

hello again! i’m freshly back from an amazing adventure in england and france, and have had a very busy week trying to balance my work and uni commitments with jet lag and all the other things that go along with coming home after a long-ish time away (boring things like paying bills, doing laundry and trying to remind all my animals that they still love me!), so it was delightful to have a special event to look forward to: the annual ‘glen harrow spring stitch-in’!

the event was run by two incredibly talented crafters/designers, rosalie quinlan and leannae beasley, and took place at the beautiful and historic glen harrow gardens (where, rosalie had her recent book launch.)

it was a glorious day in that beautiful place, and the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful.

there were some very lovely goodies there for us to stitch with, and a design each from rosalie and leanne’s collections. what more could you need for a perfect day in the hills?

here’s a work in progress - a stitchery designed by rosalie.

it’s always a pleasure to meet other crafty, stitchy, quilty type people, and on an occasion like this there were many new friends to be met (left to right, that’s renai, elizabeth, me, and suzanne).

i’m hoping leanne & rosalie will decide to do an autumn stitch-in soon! i had the best day, and left feeling totally inspired.

til next time,
